"MINDWORKS"
Since the early 1950¹s I have been continually involved with visual arts: BA degree from Pennsylvania State University, fine arts major; MA degree from Columbia University, Teachers¹ College, printmaking major; Parsons School of Design, advertising curriculum: Brooklyn Museum of Art, oil painting with Reuben Tam; professonal experience in textile design, packaging design graphics, corporate identitiy programs, and finally teaching 22 years at the Fashion Institute of Technology (State Univeristy of New York) in New York City where I taught textile (graphic) design from January 1975 to October 1997 in the Textile/Surface Design Department.
With the computer as an art tool, I began to digitize drawing meditations and to further explore the endless possibilites of imagery from the unconscious mind.

MINDWORKS are an exploration into the unconscious mind.
At the core of this work are drawing meditations, a process of discovery, images rising from the unconscious mind. Leonardo daVinci urged us to look at clouds and stains on the walls and read into them faces, animals and battlescenes.
Allowing is most important. It is necessary to have no pre-conceived ideas about what the work will be. To be meaningful, a work of art must have an element of mystery.
Recently this artwork is transformed into digital images in the computer. Here these images are enlarged, colored, cropped, altered and enhanced in Photoshop Program. They are now offered for screen viewing, as RGB Lazer prints on photographic paper or as Giclée prints using pigmented inks on canvas.
